All students must understand the correct fundamentals so their swing is based on sound GEOMETRY and PHYSICS PRINCIPLES that do not change. “The golf swing principles are not complicated. I teach 6 year-old golfers and they understand,” said John Hayes.
He has learned to teach from the legendary PGA Hall of Famer, Manuel de la Torre (October 6, 1921 – April 24, 2016). “The first time I saw Manuel teach golf, three things happened: 1) the student hit better shots right away, 2) he or she clearly understood what needed to be done and why and 3) the student left the lesson excited with the realization – I can really do this!” You will understand the motion of the club and what must be done to produce good shots,” said John Hayes. Go to: www.manueldelatorregolfteaching.com for more info on Manuel de la Torre.
JOHN HAYES has been serious for over 25 years about teaching golf and so he has spent over 100 days learning from and watching Manuel de la Torre teach all level of golfers, from major champions to brand new players. He has also learned things from several other top-notch instructors, all of this PRACTICAL knowledge will help you practice smart and get the most out of your game. John Hayes also excels at an interesting category of golfer, THE ADULT WHO IS NEW TO GOLF!
Any swing problems must have the correct diagnosis to be solved. One of the tenets of Manuel’s teaching is that the student should not be asked to do something that can be overdone. You don’t want to try something now that can get you in trouble down the road. THE MORE YOU DO IT – THE BETTER YOU SHOULD SWING! Lessons must be CUSTOMIZED for the individual and I want to be part of YOUR TEAM to help you play better golf.
The lessons are done on good quality turf. Don’t worry about the summer heat as we have the option to do the lesson under a sun cover with a fan on a top-quality Fiberbuilt range mat!

Manuel de la Torre mentioned in a Moe Norman YouTube Video
Search for the YouTube video entitled “Moe Norman Private Golf Ballstriking Exhibition 2001 Orlando.” Moe says, “I’m swinging the whole club. My arms are swinging the WHOLE club.” Someone asked Moe, “Where did you get this from?” Moe responded, “Manuel de la Torre, one of the best in the world ever. Him and Ernest Jones.” It is a long video (1:04:57) but go to times 2:32, 3:53, 8:04, 8:17, 14:20, 21:09, 27:24, 30:45 and 36:58 if you want to skip around and hear where Moe mentions Manuel de la Torre, his concept and reading his book!
